Tynagia Polk is the Sr. Manager Diversity & Inclusion for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. As the state’s largest health insurer, the health network includes more than 451 hospitals and 38,000 providers statewide. In her role, Tynagia leads the internal consulting services and collaboration with Talent Acquisition on diverse workforce sourcing strategies, engages business stakeholders and HR business partners on best practices for growing, building, and retaining talent. She oversees the Enterprise STEAM Advisory Group and STEAM programs. She is also responsible for the company diversity & inclusion awards and recognition, employer branding, and strategic partnerships in diverse communities.
Tynagia joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in 2006, after a six year tenure at AT&T. She led project management of large, complex staffing strategies for Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations. Tynagia is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Texas and 2013 graduate of Leadership Pipeline, both programs are managed by Leadership Women, a nonprofit social enterprise that has been focused on the advancement of women for 35 years. She served as a Greater Dallas Advisory Board Member of the Texas Diversity Council for three years. She also served as a board member for the African American business resource group at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and the Women of AT&T employee resource group.
Tynagia earned a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Florida A & M University. She is a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) and obtained a Leadership Certification in Emotional Intelligence (EQ). Outside of the workplace, Tynagia is a member of the North Dallas Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and volunteers with multiple organizations.
